Slime Safety:
Slime is not meant to be eaten, even if it smells yummy. It’s best for kids aged 13 and up. Younger kids should only play with it under adult supervision.
- Some slimes have small parts like charms or foam beads that can be choking hazards. Make sure kids don’t put anything in their mouths.
- Always wash your hands before and after playing with slime.
Slime Ingredients:
Glue, water, borax, fragrance oil, and sometimes clay, instant snow, and coloring are the basic ingredients for slime.
Fixing Sticky Slime:
If your slime is too sticky, you’ll need an activator solution. Mix 1 tablespoon of borax powder with 1 1/2 cups of warm water until it dissolves. Label your activator container. Gradually add a little bit of activator to the slime and mix well. Keep adding until it’s just right. Pro tip: use lotion on your hands before playing with slime to avoid stickiness!
Fixing Hard Slime:
If your slime is too firm, add some lotion or vegetable glycerin. If it’s over-activated, add vegetable glycerin or glue directly. Leaving the slime in a warm place can also help soften it.
Removing Slime from Carpet, Fabric, or Hair:
Don’t worry! Use white vinegar to remove slime from most fabrics. Apply a bit of white vinegar directly on the affected area and gently scrub. It should come out easily. Then rinse with warm water to wash out the vinegar.
